Our Company Car
This is our company car — and our spirit animal. To us, it represents the underdog. Like in those classic 80s movies, the underdog challenges the status quo and wins hearts against all odds.
On paper? This car is a disaster. It’s slow, uncomfortable, poorly built, and about as reliable as a coin flip. But once those gullwing doors swing open, none of that matters.
For us nerdy engineers, it’s pure magic: the stainless steel body, the raw mechanical feel, the glorious weirdness.

Built in 1981

This particular DeLorean is production #1356, built in May 1981. Production started at #500 — so this was the 856th car off the line in Dunmurry, just outside Belfast, Northern Ireland. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, it features iconic gull-wing doors and a brushed stainless-steel body.
Under the hood, it houses a 2.85L V6 PRV engine producing 130 hp (97 kW) and 207 Nm (153 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 9 seconds and reaches a top speed of around 180 km/h (112 mph). Measuring 4,267 mm (168.0 in) in length, 1,988 mm (78.3 in) in width, and 1,140 mm (44.9 in) in height, the DMC-12 has a curb weight of approximately 1,233 kg (2,718 lbs).
